Pizzeria Mercato

This is my FAVORITE restaurant in Carrboro!! Which is not a huge place, but has many great restaurants. I would say it’s my top pick in Orange County at least (maybe the whole triangle). It has the best food, the warmest vibes, the most lovely staff and very tasty Lambrusco. I can’t say enough great things about this spot! I will say that if you take this rec DON’T only order pizza. If you think of this as strictly a pizza place, you are missing the point. The pizza is wonderful, but ordering appetizers and possibly dessert is essential to having the full Mercato experience. They are very serious about getting amazing vegetables and they do magical things with them. I’ve had some of my favorite salads ever here (s/o warm shelling beans salad and winter lettuce salad). This menu has some old standbys, but also has a lot of movement which is nice and especially great if you find yourself becoming regular. The desserts are excellent too. The lemon custard cake is one of my all-time favorite desserts (I actually got engaged next to a lemon custard cake). Their budino is also legendary. Did I mention that it’s not extremely expensive though it feels like a really fabulous restaurant??? OK, I will shut up now, but you guys should all go here!
